GM — the league pushed some changes overnight. Highlights:
• Scouting database expanded to
141 franchises — 47 new teams added, from the 1930 Bruins to the 2025 Jets. Every NHL franchise is now represented.
• The 1990s Senators have been
demoted to the minors. The 113-point 2003 Presidents' Trophy Senators were called up to replace them. Also new: '99 Coyotes, '10 Sharks, '02 Leafs, '92 Blackhawks, '00 Blues, '80 Flyers, and the Mario comeback '01 Penguins.
• New
RETRO MODE — 16-bit skin, chiptune sounds, and a team pool straight out of 1994.
• Scoring engine tightened for realism:
two-way discipline is now era-adjusted and pro-rated for shortened seasons, and a cross-era scoring bug was fixed.
• Front office cleaned up the lobby and put the tip jar where people can find it.
•
Balance patch: the two-way discipline curve was tightened after GMs cracked it on day one, and five mis-ranked stars (including a certain Core-tier Patrick Roy) were re-tiered to their proper ranks. Scores posted before this patch ran a touch hot.
•
NEW: ERA RUNS. Pick a decade — '70s through 2020s — and draft only from it, on Pro rules, with a period-correct look for each era. Every decade keeps its own leaderboard, shown when you post your score. Seven more teams joined to deepen the '70s and '80s pools (148 total).
